The Center for Global Studies (CGS) is a research center that deals with current and historical processes of interweaving and disentangling human life across great geographical distances and different cultural contexts. The research interest is directed as much at political, social and cultural aspects of these developments as at economic or ecological ones. Within an interdisciplinary framework and public lecture series, the research approach to these developments is primarily based on humanities, cultural and social science approaches.
The CGS is also a study center, under whose umbrella six inter- and transdisciplinary Master's programs and one Bachelor's program are offered.
The center also has a doctoral program in Global Studies.
