The "terminally depressive" detective Morck, the hero of A Conspiracy Of Faith (original title Flaskepost[Message In a Bottle], a 2016 Danish noir), personifies a unique ethical stance: as an irredeemable atheist, is ready to sacrifice his life for others at any time. Starting from this fictional example, one will try to demonstrate why only a radical atheist who dispenses with any form of the reliance on a big Other (God, Society, Good) can today save the emancipatory legacy of the Christian tradition.
