Roberto Esposito

Roberto Esposito is Professor of Theoretical Philosophy and coordinator of the doctoral pro g ram in philosophy at the Italian Institute of Human Sciences. His work pursues a dialogue with significant twentieth century and contemporary philosophers, and his insights weave together the work of various thinkers, leading the reader toward a philosophy he has labeled “the impersonal”. He is the author of the trilogy Communitas (1998), Immunitas (2002) and Bios (2004), and of The Third Person (2007) and Living Thought: The Origins and Actuality of Italian Philosophy (2010). His latest book is Due (2013), in which he continues his project of rethinking the lexicon and categories of political philosophy.
